Independence, Well-being and Happiness Group for Young Adults
We are pleased to offer “Independence, Well-being and Happiness Group for Young Adults” with a focus on successful transitions to independent adulthood for individuals that are 18 to 28 years old. This group is designed for young adults who may be struggling with becoming emotionally, cognitively, and financially independent and finding happiness and fulfillment while doing so. Group discussions and skill development will go far beyond the often repeated phrase: "find your passion and everything else will fall into place".
The group is a ten session, 1 ½ hour group format featuring specific topics for discussion and application such as “Substance Use - benefits, costs and impact on goals”; “Financial Health”; “Emotional Regulation”; “Problem Solving”; and “Sleep Fundamentals”. Each session includes a psycho-educational presentation, followed by discussion and then the designing of personal assignments/skill development and application exercises for the following week.
The group will be facilitated by Dimitra Takos, PsyD, who is an excellent and experienced cognitive behavioral therapist. Dr. Takos has an extensive background in group development and facilitation acquired through her work at Sharp-Mesa Vista Hospital in San Diego. We are excited to have her as part of the Cognitive Therapy Orange County staff.
Please call Dr. Takos at 714 437 1686, extension 5 for additional information and to schedule your first group meeting. We look forward to hearing from you.
FeesThe cost of the group is $900.00 and is paid at the beginning of the 10 week group. Please contact Dr. Takos or Dr. Abell, CTOC clinical director, for details on fees/payment.
